Buzzers, also known as beepers, are available in two types: with a backup battery (active) and without a backup battery (passive). Passive buzzers operate solely with power from the flight controller and only when given a command. Their advantage lies in their lighter weight and smaller size. However, the downside of passive buzzers is that if the power supply is lost (e.g., if the battery disconnects during an FPV drone crash), they will stop working along with the rest of the drone's electronics. In contrast, buzzers with a backup battery activate once the main power is disconnected, making it easier to locate a lost drone (e.g., in tall grass). This triggered alarm can be deactivated with a button on the buzzer itself. From a practicality standpoint, buzzers with a backup battery are more advantageous.
